WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College volleyball team will host a "Dig Pink Rally" in October to support the Side-Out Foundation, an organization that supports breast cancer patients and their families.
PCC Volleyball Coach Katelynn James says her team hopes to raise $1,000 for the foundation through t-shirt sales and a specially-designated "Dig Pink Rally" match against Catawba Valley Community College Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.
"The team and I are so excited to be a part of something much bigger than ourselves, and we hope that you will join us in the fight against cancer," James said.
T-shirts, which feature PCC's Bruiser mascot surrounded by a ribbon and the message "Peace … Love … Cure," come in pink or grey and cost $12 each. All proceeds will go toward the volleyball team's fundraising goal.
