Radel Once Again Named NJCAA's Top Division I Pitcher

WINTERVILLE—For the second straight week, the National Junior College Athletic Association has named Pitt Community College's Jaimee Radel its Division I Softball Pitcher of the Week.

In three appearances against USC-Salkehatchie this past weekend, Radel recorded a 2-0 record and a save. In 19 innings pitched, she struck out 32 batters, allowed just two hits and no runs.

A sophomore from Swansboro, Radel is averaging 13.5 strikeouts per game. Of the 200 batters she has faced this season, the right-hander has fanned 115 while walking just 12.

At 13-3 overall and 4-0 in Region X Conference play, PCC hosts Louisburg College today at Winterville Recreation Park. First pitch of the Region X doubleheader is scheduled for 3 p.m.
