PCC Baseball to Hold Open Tryout at Minges-Overton June 29

WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College baseball program will hold an open tryout for unsigned high school seniors at Minges-Overton Baseball Complex on June 29.

In order to participate, players must show proof of having completed a physical within the past year. No player will be permitted to take part in the tryout without it.

The pro-style workout will begin at 10:30 a.m. with position player check-in and include the following: 60-yard dash, infield/outfield from preferred position, and an extended round of batting practice.

Starting with check-in at 12:45 p.m., pitchers will throw a 30-pitch bullpen session to showcase their individual talent.

Players should bring all essential equipment (i.e, bats, cleats, gloves and turf shoes) to the tryout. Catchers should bring their own gear.

Those planning on attending the tryout should e-mail PCC Baseball Coach Tommy Eason at teason@email.pittcc.edu to designate a spot.

PCC went 38-18 overall in 2016 and won the Region X Conference Baseball Tournament to reach the NJCAA DI Baseball Eastern District Championship.
