#7 Bulldogs take series at Patrick Henry

MARTINSVILLE, VA - The Pitt Baseball team fell in extra innings in game before winning games two and three of this weekend's conference series.

GAME 1 RECAP

Game 1 of the series was a pitchers duel from the onset. Pitt Starter Justin Walke went 6 innings allowing just one run before giving way to freshman right hander Kyle Davis. The Bulldogs battled back to tie the game at 3-3 and send the contest into extra innings. In the bottom of the 12th Patrick Henry fist basemen Brandon Nania hit a walk off two run home run to win game 1 for the Patriots.

GAME 2 RECAP

The Bulldogs exploded for 14 runs on 13 hits in game 2 including home runs from Reese Farmer and Aaron Stamper. Stamper went 3-4 on the day with 5 RBI's. Jake Isbell earned the win in relief of Andrew Blake.

GAME 3 RECAP

The Pitt bats stayed hot in the rubber match of the series scoring 11 runs on 12 hits. Shelton Perkins earned the win on the mound taking a shutout into the 7th before surrendering 4 runs in the 8th. 5 Bulldogs collected multiple hits in the contest.
