Six Home Runs Power Bulldogs past Guilford Tech

The Bulldogs were able to win games 1 and 3 this weekend powered by six home runs and excellent starts by Justin Walke and Shelton Perkins.

GAME 1 RECAP

Justin Walke earned the win and Kyle Davis picked up the save in a tightly contested game 1. Aaron Stamper ignited the offense with a solo home run in the second, followed by back to back solo home runs by Daniel Millwee and Caleb Beatty.

GAME 2 RECAP

Andrew Blake earned the loss in a game 2 that saw the Bulldogs fall in 5 innings by mercy rule. The Bulldogs struggled both offensively and defensively as the Titans racked up 11 runs in 5 innings.

GAME 3 RECAP

Shelton Perkins turned in arguably his best outing of the season in game 3, going all 7 innings while striking out 8 and allowing only 1 run. Dominick Cammarata started things off for Pitt by belting a grand slam in the first inning to put the Bulldogs up 4-0. Caleb Beatty would homer in the 7th, immediately followed by another home run by Cammarata to put the game out of reach.

FINAL SCORE: PITT 9 GUILFORD TECH 1

The Bulldogs are back in action Wednesday, April 19th at home against Belmont Abbey for a doubleheader. Games begin at 3:00.
